A short compilation -- at only 12 tracks -- lacking any sense of focus, 90s Super Hits can only be recommended if you need a few of its songs in a pinch. While just about all of these songs landed near or at the top of the charts during the decade, you get the notion that the selection was generated by a computer program of some kind. Tens of dozens of discs just like this one could be made. There's an emphasis on R&B -- H-Town's "Knockin' da Boots," Shai's "If I Ever Fall in Love," D.R.S.'s "Gangsta Lean," Portrait's "Here We Go Again" -- and then there are a few middle-of-the-road rock singles (from Meat Loaf, Duran Duran, and the Proclaimers). This disc also seems to stick to the first half of the decade.
