Operation Ivy would never know the impact that their one and only album, Energy, would have. Not only would a number of bands go out of their way to mimic their sound, but they would mimic it badly. 78 RPM's are a perfect example of this; they have the watered-down sound of generic ska-punk to a tee. Even though they maintain the momentum of youthful, fast-paced energy on all four selections, the music itself is boring and predictable, and has been done by every other high school garage band since the release of Energy.
