Les Enfoirés: La Crise de Nerfs marks the 19th annual album release by Les Enfoirés, an all-star group of French celebrities who come together each year in the name of charity. The proceeds from Les Enfoirés go to Les Restaurants du Coeur, a charitable organization established by the late comedian Coluche that distributes food packages to those in need. The live recordings featured on Les Enfoirés: La Crise de Nerfs -- 15 of them songs, the other five medleys -- were culled from seven concerts performed by Les Enfoirés at the Palais Nikaia in Nice, France, between January 27 and February 1, 2010. In addition to the 20 live recordings, the album opens with a studio-recorded version of "Si l'On S'Aimait, Si" intended for radio play. The slickly produced single is an adaptation by Jean-Jacques Goldman and Bénabar of "I Was Made for Lovin' You," a 1979 hit by the American hard rock band Kiss. Among the many celebrities who make guest appearances on Les Enfoirés, most notable are contemporary pop superstars Grégoire, Christophe Maé, Bénabar, Amel Bent, Renan Luce, and Christophe Willem. Grégoire of Toi et Moi fame is a first-time participant, and he's heard on three songs. With the exception of the theme song "La Chanson des Restos," the entirety of Les Enfoirés is comprised of cover material that ranges from recent hits by Helmut Fritz ("Ça M'Énerve") and Grégoire ("Ta Main"), to mid-'90s favorites by Mylène Farmer ("XXL") and Renaud ("Dans Ton Sac"), to oldies by Téléphone ("Au Cœur de la Nuit") and Georges Brassens ("Les Passantes"). While there's nothing exceptional about Les Enfoirés, it's another well-produced entry in the long-running and increasingly routine Les Enfoirés series that should please fans of previous volumes.
