AllMusic Review by

This double-disc set collects A Swinging Christmas Concert and 1940's Christmas, both of which offer up some vintage holiday cheer. Glenn Miller's A Swinging Christmas Concert has a nice balance of Christmas songs and his normal repertoire, including "Moonlight Serenade," "Sun Valley Jump," and "Little Brown Jug," all of which sound right at home next to his orchestra's versions of "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night." 1940's Christmas is nearly as consistent, with highlights like Bing Crosby's "I'll Be Home for Christmas," Judy Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and Dinah Shore's "O Little Town of Bethlehem." A few re-recorded songs on the album distract from the nostalgic air, but overall this album, and this set, capture the festive feel of '40s holidays.
