Praise music from the later part of the 20th century was infused with many of the same musical ideas and instruments that easy listening music was known for. This hybrid of the two genres became the norm, as songs like "Shine Jesus Shine" and "El Shadai" became popular in Christian music. 16 Great Praise & Worship Classics, Vol. 3 is a perfect showcase for this new style of praise music, filled with low-key arrangements, lush keyboards, and passionate singing. Despite the catchiness of many of the tracks, the performers suffer from the bland sameness that hangs over the genre. Fans of Christian music will probably enjoy it just for collecting so many popular praise songs on one album, but this will not translate well to a secular audience.
