L' Esprit du Sound features Sai Sai, a collective who practices a synthesis of American rap and Jamacian dancehall, two related though rarely synthesized styles. Sai Sai largely makes this logical though rare synthesis work partly because the collective is French, not American or Jamaican. Since the group, led by Pop Levi, is just as removed from New York as they are from Kingston, they create music that shows no bias toward one style or the other, usually incorporating motifs of both into each respective song. Levi lays down the beats, and a few MCs handle most of the rhymes, those MCs being Mr. Ricky and Ramses Ooki, for the most part. There is also quite a bit of instrumentation on L' Esprit du Sound such as strings, keyboards, guitars, and percussion.
