AllMusic Review by

As worthy a collection of pieces as Film Music, Vol. 1, this second volume spans 1968 to 1986. Like the first installment, it mixes pieces from well-known soundtracks (Once Upon a Time in America, Once Upon a Time in the West, A Fistful of Dynamite, The Mission) with the arcane. Bits of spaghetti Western are here, but the emphasis is primarily on his orchestral arrangements, with "Moses' Theme" being one of his most impressive achievements in the idiom. Like Vol. 1, it does duplicate a few tracks from Anthology, but is certainly a good compilation on its own terms.
