Tim Buckley

Happy Time

Song Review by

A delightful combination of influences mark "Happy Time" one of Tim Buckley's most accessible late-'60s recordings. Celebrating the creative process, Buckley conveys his joy of melodic creation with a great accuracy. There is a vague pop lilt to the up-tempo rhythm, making it a bit more easily identifiable than some of his more experimental records of the period, such as "Lorca." However, the great vibe flourishes by David Freidman illustrate that Buckley hadn't abandoned his folk-jazz dream either.
