Eclectic and unpredictable, Skip bounces from romantic to biblical to nonsensical with varying degrees of distinction. Some songs stumble on (Margaret-Tiger Rug), while others have a sense of exotic beauty (Diana). This album certainly won’t appeal to everyone, especially as most of the material on here is quite slow, and I can’t say I’m particularly enthusiastic about it myself, but I’m glad I took the time to get to know it.
