Xperi tries to add artist information, but can't make any promises about which artists and titles will receive this level of enhanced editorial coverage. However, you may send them your information for consideration by following the steps on the Product Submissions page .

Q: What is an AllMusic subscription? What does it offer?

By subscribing to support AllMusic you receive a number of benefits including an ad-free experience, the website loading faster, and you'll get a warm feeling knowing that you're helping to support a site that has been providing music information for over two decades. More detail is available on our subscribe page . AllMusic uses services from Stripe and PayPal to manage the payment side of things. We don't hang onto your credit card information. Payment is $12 USD for one entire year. We are not doing recurring payments at this time, but we notify you when your subscription is nearly expired. If you'd like to subscribe for an additional year, visit the Paid Subscription page in your user account and enter in your credit card information again. If your credit card has a charge listed as "AllMusic" it is because you have signed up to become an AllMusic Subscriber to receive an ad-free and faster AllMusic experience. As is stated in our Terms of Service (section 3.5), we are unable to provide refunds on annual subscriptions after purchase. There are some things to note: Becoming a subscriber does not give access to stream full albums, to upload music, download music, change a band photo or alter the editorial content (reviews and biographies) provided on AllMusic. Subscribing does not guarantee uptime or that the site will never have hiccups. If the site craps out, we're all in the same boat.

You may submit credit-related corrections to Xperi editors using the Submit Corrections links available in the sidebar on artist and album pages. Please try to be as specific as possible in your submission. Submissions that are vague or inconclusive cannot be acted upon and may be rejected.

Please do not contact AllMusic about the status of data corrections; we don't control which data is corrected or how long it takes to apply corrections, and we can't move up your correction in priority or within a specific time frame. Xperi appreciates the time you take to send this information to them, but due to the immense volume of correspondence they receive, they're unable to directly respond to most of your submissions.

These services get their information from the same place we do, a company called Xperi (formerly Rovi/TiVo) who create and provide album and artist information to us. Please see the details on submitting information to them on our Product Submissions page.

Unfortunately if one of these services has incorrect information about an artist, there isn't anything we at the website AllMusic.com can do about fixing it. It needs to be corrected by the company that provides the info to all of these sites and services.

There are also situations where Xperi may be sending the correct information to one of these services, but it is getting mixed up at Apple or Spotify or wherever. In that case you would need to contact that specific service to get it ironed out.

Xperi tries to add artists and recordings, as well as review as many CDs possible, but can't make any promises about which artists and titles will receive this level of enhanced editorial coverage. However, you may send them your information for consideration by following the steps on the Product Submissions page.

Artists who have recorded under different names or who are credited differently across different liner notes may be attributed to different AllMusic pages. To get them properly combined, please follow the information on the Submit Corrections links available in the sidebar on the artist page. These corrections will be sent to our data provider Xperi who are the ones who can make the corrections for us.

Please be as detailed as possible to aid the data team in combining the credits where appropriate.

An example would be: "My name is Joe Smith and I am an oboe player. I am sometimes listed in the liner notes as Joseph Smith. The database has my credits split across the following pages: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/joe-smith-MN0000123456 and https://www.allmusic.com/artist/joeseph-smith-MN0000999999

I would prefer these credits to be listed under Joe Smith (https://www.allmusic.com/artist/joe-smith-MN0000123456).

Artists with the same or very similar names are accidentally combined on occasion by our data provider Xperi. To get them properly split, please follow the information on the Submit Corrections links available in the sidebar on the artist page.

Please be as detailed as possible to aid the data team in splitting the credits correctly.

An example would be: "My name is Joe Smith and I am an oboe player. The database has my credits listed incorrectly on this page https://www.allmusic.com/artist/joe-smith-MN0000123456

The credits that should be applied to my work are:

Similarly, if an album by another band is listed under your name, use the Submit Corrections link on your page to indicate clearly which albums are yours, and which should be moved to another artist.

If you had an account dating back before 2007 and you're trying to log in with those credentials, it will not work. That system is no longer in place.
You may still be receiving the weekly new releases newsletter but not have a valid account to log into AllMusic. The newsletter database and the AllMusic login database are not necessarily the same set of email addresses.

If you have a recent account and can't log in, we suggest trying to recover your password.

If all else fails, please contact us using this form and let us know the email address you're using to sign in.

Please note, AllMusic.com does not have a method for artists and musicians to upload their own information directly to the website. If there is a page for your band on AllMusic, it does not mean that you had an account on the site.

If you have been instructed to get your Rovi ID, just look at the end of the URL of your artist page.

For example, Radiohead's URL is https://www.allmusic.com/artist/radiohead-mn0000326249 and their Rovi ID is mn0000326249.

If you do not have an artist page (meaning if you do a search on AllMusic and your name does not come back) you'll need to submit your recordings to our data provider Xperi (formerly called TiVo). (Details here).

That's the great thing about being a music fan; you can have an opinion about an album that might not be the same as another person's opinion. Xperi editors take into account the history of the band, the sound of the performance, song selection and a number of other factors when writing their reviews. Keep in mind that each of our reviews represents an educated opinion, but a subjective opinion nonetheless.

That's the great thing about being a music fan; you can have an opinion about an album that might not be the same as another person's opinion. Xperi editors use a 1 to 5 star system. It is important to note that albums are rated only within the scope of an artist's own work; we won't compare a Miles Davis album to the latest album by Britney Spears.

Editors may choose to revisit an artist's discography, especially if an artist releases a great new album, to re-factor the earlier releases to better fit within the band's history. For example: in 1993 an editor may have given Radiohead's Pablo Honey four-and-a-half stars when it came out, being one of the best Britpop albums to date. As time goes on and Radiohead releases The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, etc, Pablo Honey may not warrant being their highest-rated album. The text of the review is still valid, but the older rating gets adjusted.

The AllMusic genre is considered to be a broad umbrella term that may have several styles under it. Occasionally we hear things like "This band isn't pop/rock, they are heavy metal" or "This album isn't rap, it is hip-hop" Our Styles may be more along the lines of what you're looking for.

If you are an artist and you feel as though your genre is not properly represented please contact our data provider using the corrections form.

Before formally requesting a takedown, please consider the fact that this information may be useful and interesting to the AllMusic community.
