Welcome to the New AllMovie

And the winner for Best Movie Site is... the new AllMovie! For folks who are familiar with AllMusic, you should know that we also run a movie-focused site featuring reviews, biographies, filmographies, ratings, genres, moods and themes covering the world of cinema called AllMovie.

We're proud to introduce a bunch of new features, and improvements to the pages you already love, including more information about movies, more detail about actors and filmmakers, and more ways to explore the world of cinema or discover your next favorite film.

Mobile Design

We noticed that more and more users were accessing the site from their mobile devices, but our old design didn't permit users to view movie information easily that way. Now, with our mobile responsive layout, users can get movie details, read about actors and filmmakers, and find movies to see in nearby theaters.

You can now easily access AllMovie on iPhones/iPads, Android devices, and Windows phones just by going to our homepage. Plus, if you bookmark the page or save it to your home screen, you can access the site just like you would an app.

Improvements to New Movies In Theaters

On AllMovie, you can see which movies are playing in your area (including arthouse and indie theaters) simply by putting in your zip or postal code. Browse by movie or theater — and even buy movie tickets from Fandango straight from AllMovie.

Comment on AllMovie Articles

On our blog you can comment on articles published by our editors. Chime in and give your opinion on the films reviewed and discussed.

Factsheets on Actors and Filmmakers

On AllMovie's actor and filmmaker pages, we now include a series of brief facts to supplement their biographies. Learn obscure factoids about how your favorite people in cinema got their starts, their earliest roles and connections they may have made throughout the film industry.

More Related Movies

We now feature a greater number of similar movies on our movie pages. On the Related Movies tab of a movie page, you'll see a full grid of films related to the movie being featured, as well as being able to filter this list by specific categories like Similar To, Associated With, Preceded By, Followed By, Spoofed In, Influenced and more.

New Ways to Browse Movie Stills and Person Photos

We've created a new gallery of movie stills on our movie pages and artist photos on our people pages. Check out bigger images and thumbnails to flip through when browsing the photos on a movie page or a person page. Simply look for the media gallery on the left side of any movie or person page to launch this feature.

Advanced Movie Search

Oh man, this is fun. If you've ever wanted to dig deep into the different genres, ratings, release years, topics and characteristics that AllMovie displays, you're going to love our Advanced Movie Search.

Drill down into specific movie subgenres and view movies that were released in specific decades, within certain MPAA ratings, and even specific runtimes. Even better, select specific moods, themes, and tones and scan through movies that match exactly what you're looking for. Check out Blaxploitation movies from the '70s that feature Fighting the System or Righting the Wronged, or 4-star Sci-Fi films set in Future Dystopias.

We're Keeping the Things You Already Love About AllMovie

Yeah, we've got a bunch of amazing new features, but we're still your trusted source for authoritative writing about film, including movie reviews, biographies, filmographies, cast and crew, awards, movie subgenres, editorial star ratings, and movies to watch, rent, stream or own. Additionally, you can create an account to rate the movies you love (or hate), mark actors, directors and films as your favorites to receive personalized recommendations for films to explore.

We hope you're as excited as we are about the new AllMovie, and we want you to know that we value the opinions and ideas from our passionate community. Feel free to offer suggestions and ideas in the comments below or via the AllMovie feedback page.
