Anchored by a pulsing groove, "Us" comes from
SonicAluzion, the upcoming album by Toronto-based band
Smashing Satellites. The uptempo track features a sound that blends R&B, funk, disco and electronic music that brings to mind
Daft Punk's more lighthearted, organic moments. It's a wildly exuberant sound that has nothing to do with frontman Salvatore Costa's previous work in the post-grunge band
My Darkest Days, in which he played guitar. Out of the darkness and into the light, it's a whole new chapter for Costa.
SonicAluzion is out on June 16 and can be pre-ordered
via iTunes.
