"Tomorrow's Child," the title track from the upcoming album by veteran folk musician
Jonathan Edwards, features backing vocals from the Grammy-winning juggernaut and
Robert Plant compatriot
Alison Krauss. Edwards rose to stardom in 1971 with the hit "Sunshine," and has continued to write, record and tour over the subsequent decades.
"Darrell [Scott, producer] brought this song in and urged me to consider it and to sit with it and try and discover all the levels of meaning that I could bring to the vocal interpretation," Edwards wrote. "Well, I completely fell in love with this imagery and these ideas and the perfection of this song for the title of this album. And Alison’s angelic voice alongside mine has now transcended my dream state to become one of the biggest gifts I've ever been given."
Tomorrow's Child will be released June 23.
