Several of the recordings reviewed by our editors this past month acknowledge anniversaries or birthdays. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra summarizes 125 years of history in a concise 22 tracks, while the Bamberger Symphoniker created a multi-disc box for its 70th anniversary. Pianist Martha Argerich's 75th birthday is being commemorated with several box sets throughout the year, including her complete Chopin recordings for Deutsche Grammophon. Finally, there are a couple of recordings of music of Steve Reich, who turns 80 this year. Let's celebrate!
