Toronto-based band Ginger Ale & the Monowhales delivers five tracks of upbeat, earnest pop on its new EP,
BANG, with an emphasis on big crescendos. Sometimes the songs rely on drums and keyboards to get their point across, while other times soaring guitar leads take control, while keeping things diverse enough to give each track its own flavor.
BANG is out October 14.
"The experience of creating this album permeated all aspects of our lives, from working on the lyrics and arrangement of 'Home' while our producer cooked us pasta in the next room, to staying up all night piecing together samples of clocks for 'Let It Fall' before the mix session the next day," singer Sally Shaar wrote. "We hope this record gives you something to sink your teeth into, a bit of sonic sustenance."
BANG can be ordered
via Bandcamp.
