On their second album, Utah-based folk-pop band the National Parks have a habit of starting small and ending big; many tracks open in simple, unadorned fashion, then build and build to climactic moments, adding on layers of instruments and vocals. For a good example, check out the second track, "Glow," which evolves from a gently finger-picked guitar and voice into a swirling conclusion, packed with synthesizers, horns and drums. Also, the band has a
run of shows coming up in August.
