Walt McClements of Dark Dark Dark and Hurray For the Riff Raff sits down with his accordion and drums for a thoughtful, ambitious new solo album, Precious Futures. The record is out tomorrow, but you can check out the whole thing here before it's released. We're partial to the slow build of "See What You Say," but maybe the mournful closer "Litany" is more your speed.

"The songs on Precious Futures came out of a two-year period of travel that started when I left my long term home of New Orleans and ended when I wound up settling in the seemingly un-cozy sprawl of Los Angeles," McClements wrote. "During that time, I thought a lot about what the idea of home meant for me: divorced from a place. The songs revolve around this theme of home, thinking about it not as a place, but as a feeling, a feeling that can be manifested from the arms of a lover, from the supposed freedom of the road, or from the comfort of old friends."

Precious Futures can be ordered via BandCamp.
