Album Premiere: Katie Burden, 'Strange Moon'

Strange Moon, ​the debut album from Los Angeles-based musician Katie Burden, alternately haunts and beguiles with its varied atmospheres and styles. Sometimes her voice carries a distant aching reminiscent of Beth Gibbons, while featuring a more upbeat, smooth effervescence in other moments. Burden herself refers to the shape-shifting album as "a twisted tale combining atmospheric collages and liberating ruminations," which is as accurate as it as ambiguous.



Strange Moon is due out September 16 on Cautionary Tail Records and can be ordered via Bandcamp.
