Canyons of my Mind, the upcoming new album from Andrew Combs, continues to blur the line between country-influenced singer-songwriter material and lush, layered indie pop. The Texas-born Nashville transplant first caught our attention with his four-star 2015 album, All These Dreams, which James Christopher Monger hailed for its "always melodious and warmly lit distillation of all things Glen Campbell, Mickey Newbury, Mac Davis, and Harry Nilsson." Standout tracks include the haunting "Hazel," the creeping, distorted "Blood Hunters," and sprawling closer "Bourgeois King," chaotic flutes and all.
Canyons of my Mind is out April 7 on New West Records.
