Ninety minutes from Berlin at a picturesque site previously occupied by a coal mine, Melt! Festival lives up to its name with a scorching lineup. Two AllMusic favorites headline this year, adventurous electronic musicmakers the Knife, and Thom Yorke's experimental indie supergroup Atoms for Peace, and there's plenty more where that came from, from synthpop songstress Charli XCX to provocative rapper Azealia Banks, to Best of 2012 artists Flying Lotus and Dan Deacon, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Offering three jam-packed days of the best indie and electronic acts in the game for €119 ($155), Melt! is also one of the best bang-for-your-buck festivals this summer.
