Sometimes criticized for views bordering on proto-fascism, the brothers of Von Thronstahl (Josef Maria Klumb and Bernhard Klumb) started making music together in 1995. Motivated by a desire to create a musical landscape that was attached to a "real European heritage," the pair released their first work, the 10" Sturmzeit, in 1998. Over the next ten or so years, Von Thronstahl would release a handful of works, including a few full-length albums (Imperium Internum in 2000, E Pluribus Unum in 2001, Bellum, Sacrum Bellum!? in 2003) and a smattering of mini CDs and CD box sets -- 2007's Sacrificare and 2009's Germanium Metallicum, for example.
