Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Tony Danno began singing at an early age and never lost his love for it. After performing around the New York area in various groups as well as a solo performer, Danno teamed up with Lenny Cocco in the eighties. Cocco asked Danno to join his band Lenny Cocco and the Chimes. Previously known as The Chimes, the band had a hits in the fifties with a doo-wop sound. Danno joined the group, becoming its vocal arranger as well as the baritone singer. In 1992, he was part of Morse Code of Love, an album and compilation that was released by The Capris, another fifties doo-wop band. In 2000, Danno released his debut solo album, Next Time Around on Hapi Skratch. He continues to perform with Lenny Cocco and the Chimes throughout the United States.
