An acoustic folk duo with a difference, the Nudes comprise jazz guitarist Walter Parks and classically trained cellist and vocalist Stephanie Winters, a professional musician since her teenage years. The two came together in New York's Greenwich Village, and released their self-titled debut album on Acoustic America Records in 1993. Praise from their live shows (as likely to occur at a museum or college center as a coffeehouse) gained the duo a contract with Rer, which issued the album Vanishing Point in 1995. Third album Velvet Sofa appeared in early 1997, also on Acoustic America.
