The Deltones were one of the few female ska/reggae bands in the United Kingdom. Formed in 1985 by ex-Delta 5 vocalist Jacqui Collins and keyboard player Sara McGuinness, the group went through numerous personnel changes during the half a decade that they were together. Their debut album, Nana Choc Choc in Paris, featured trumpet player Penny Leyton, saxophonists Anna Keegan and Nicky Ford, guitarist Serena Parsons, keyboardist Julie Liggett, bassist Angela Risner, and drummer Jeremy Brill. Vocal harmonies were furnished by Amanda Fenn, Dill Hammond, and Verona Davis. The group disbanded shortly after the release of their second album, Oddball Boy, in late 1989.
