Delivering versatile and visionary sounds based upon simple combinations of alternative pop/rock style with sharp-edged lyrics, Standing in the Sun combines the stormy tradition of rock culture with modern experimentation. Formed in California in 1996 with a three-piece lineup featuring Rex Perry, Ric Alien, and Les Moore, Sun managed to quickly gain the interest of both the industry and the public. After years during which the band played numerous shows all over the U.S., they finally settled on entering the studio to record their debut album. Standing in the Sun, their self-titled full-length, hit the record stores in 1999, receiving exciting reviews and solidifying the band's already major following.
