This short-lived US band featured a potpourri of musical styles. Formed in 1979, they comprised Ray Herring (vocals, piano), Gregg Hoffman (guitar, vocals), Jordan Rudess (b. 4 November 1956, New York, USA; keyboards), Dennis Feldman (bass, vocals) and Glenn Dove (drums). They debuted on Epic Records with a self-titled album that defied simple categorization. It featured a solid foundation of heavy-duty symphonic rock, modified by blues, funk, soul and Caribbean influences. In places, it courted comparisons with Led Zeppelin’s more experimental phases. Sadly, the band broke up before their true potential could be realized. Feldman went on to play with Balance and later Michael Bolton. Rudess guested on Vinnie Moore’s Time Odyssey, released a solo album in 1993, and joined Dream Theater in 1999.
