When being a young student, Mexican Sofia Miranda decided to get involved in music, studying singing and piano at the National Music Conservatory, making her live debut at the age of 15. In 1990, the artist participated in a well-known music contest called Valores Juveniles. In 1996, Sofia Miranda recorded her first album in Los Angeles, CA, produced by Carlos Lara, followed by Un Pretexto, released by AT Music. In 1997, the singer came in second place at the local competition to represent Mexico at OTI's Festival with a song called "Un Aplauso A La Vida."
