Not to be confused with the obscure blues singer of the late '20s, nor the animal-loving creator of a series of ferret cartoons, this Sadie James is the powerful vocalist and lyricist in the New York-based alternative rock band One Handed Molly. The group originally was formed by producer and drummer Gregory Rogers and James in the summer of 1997, and is filled out by guitarist Derek Sternborg and bassist Dave Hamburger; the latter player obviously a good asset to any touring band since it seems quite difficult one would ever starve with a Hamburger playing bass in the band. Since its formation, the group has released three albums, and performs at venues such as New York clubs and college campuses. One Handed Molly also busks in Central Park, doing acoustic versions of its material.
