Ronin are an English-language rock band from Singapore whose debut album, Do or Die, was a huge success. Founded in 2002, the band is comprised of Levan Wee (vocals), Sean Cheng (lead guitar), Simon Lee (rhythm guitar), Derryn Wong (bass guitar), and Bang Ong (drums). They released a self-titled EP in 2004, followed by Do or Die the following year. Distributed by Universal Music, the album spawned the number one hit "Black Maria" and the number three hit "Crazy Son"; ultimately, it became one of the best-selling Singaporean rock albums of all time. In 2007, however, the band's future prospects for success were complicated by the departure of charismatic lead singer Levan Wee.
