Ricardo Castillón led the Tejano group La Diferenzia before embarking on a solo career in the late '90s. As the lead vocalist in La Diferenzia, Castillón became a considerable sensation, scoring many hits with the group. He was still quite young at the time yet had spent most of his life surrounded by music. Born in Lobock, TX, Castillón joined his family's musical group at the age of 12 and had been playing guitar for years prior. Beginning in 1995, La Diferenzia began winning much acclaim and attaining much success. He embarked on his solo career in 1999 with a self-titled release for RCA. He then signed with Melody Latina, who aligned Castillón with producers Christian DeWalden and Carlo Nasi for his 2002 follow-up.
