Peter Fawthrop was born in New York and raised in Albuquerque, NM. While a senior in high school, his film reviews and comic strips earned first-place awards from National Scholastic and The Albuquerque Tribune. His creative writing teacher successfully petitioned him for Literature Student of the Year in 1995. A prolific knowledge of pop music, with a particular interest in the evolving careers of singers who were mostly successful in the 1980s, led him to involvement with All Music Guide. In 1997, while still a junior communications student at Palm Beach Atlantic University, he submitted samples of his writing to an editor at All Music Guide, and soon became a regular contributor to the Allmusic.com site. In 2008, he worked as a full-time English professor at King Saud University in Riyadh, having previously taught English in Dubai and Seoul. He works part-time as an actor in Los Angeles, and is a member of SAG and AFTRA. His passion is writing fiction, and he is currently writing a novel for young adults.
DESERT ISLAND LIST:
Note: Some of the best albums of all time were surely released by artists like the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley. They have all made spectacular music, and I enjoy each of them. My musical interests are rock, pop, classical, gospel, and folk. But as a writer, I must be honest about the albums that have truly been the soundtrack to my life. They may not be typical choices for "greatest," which is a silly term anyway, but they are great, simply because, if I were really on a desert island, I would hate for any of them to be replaced. ~ Peter Fawthrop
