Technically speaking, Miss Conduct dates back to 2001, but under a different name. Originally known as Then Came Bronson, the band recorded demos for EP releases in 2001 and 2002 (the second entitled Wanna Be Never Be) before the band found themselves without bassist and singer Chris, even after finally landing a single release in 2003. In 2006, the replacement of Chris with vocalist Kim and bassist Dai led to the re-branding of the band, and Miss Conduct was born. The band scored a deal with small label Visible Noise that year, and released their mini album, Sinner Vs. Sinned in 2007. The band then spent the springtime of '07 on the road, and played a BBC Radio One session. But more setbacks were to occur later that year, when Kim decided to part ways with the band. Guitarists Gav and Shiner, (new) bassist Benji, and drummer Ronnie soldiered on, and eventually the vocalist spot was taken by Emma Jane. The band then went into preparations for more touring and recording.
