Artist Biography

Stratton is regarded by many Australians as one of their best singer-songwriters. She possesses an excellent voice and plays guitar, piano, violin and viola. She has won songwriting competitions and her song, ‘Refugee’, was used on Australian radio to promote Refugee Week in 1992. ‘Favourite Chair’ is a poignant, nostalgic song about her father. It has to be seen whether she is distinctive enough to appeal to UK and US record buyers. The closest comparison is with Janis Ian. Stratton’s songs may be too wordy for general public acceptance.
