Luiz Carlos Pereira de Sá is one of the members of the famous duo Sá e Guarabyra. Before the formation of the duo, both Sá and his partner, Guarabyra, were already active in the artistic scenery. Sá's first hit was "Giramundo," recorded by Peri Ribeiro (who would also record his "Escadas do Bonfim"). Soon afterwards, Sá's "Menina de Hiroshima" (with Chico de Assis) was recorded by Nara Leão. In 1965, he worked in the group of the historic Teatro Opinião, participating in the also important show Samba Pede Passagem, in which Araci de Almeida, Baden Powell, and MPB-4 also performed. His single "Inaiá" (RCA) reached the finals of TV-Rio's I FIC in 1966. He quit his individual career since the duo's formation in 1973.
