Nicknamed "Captain Fingers" for his uncommon dexterity on the guitar, Lee Ritenour is an adept jazz performer and stylistic chameleon, known for work in the fusion, crossover, as well as post-bop and Brazilian jazz idioms. A noted session musician since the 1970s, Ritenour has performed with a bevy of top-level performers, including George Duke, Barbra Streisand, Stanley Turrentine, Carly Simon, Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Sonny Rollins, and Dizzy Gillespie, among many others. He has earned both accolades and chart success for his own albums, including a Top 30 Billboard 200 album with 1981's Rit and a Grammy Award for 1985's Harlequin.
