Kan Wakan makes moody, ornate, orchestral-influenced rock and pop music. Formed in 2012 as an instrumental project for Bulgarian-born composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Gueorgui I. Linev, Kan Wakan also prominently featured lead singer Kristianne Bautista. In 2013, Kan Wakan released its debut EP, co-produced by Linev and guitarist Peter Potyondy along with producer/engineer Darrell Thorp. The EP, which garnered airplay on Los Angeles' KCRW radio station, also featured orchestral parts via the Metamorphosis Chamber Orchestra led by Linev's uncle, Bulgarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra conductor Stefan Linev. In 2014, Kan Wakan returned with its debut full-length album, Moving On.
