b. 8 March 1900, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, d 17 January 1965. A nephew of John Robichaux, he played piano in New Orleans and Chicago in the years immediately after World War I. In the early 20s he was a member of the Black Eagle Band and also worked with the Davey Jones- Lee Collins Astoria Hot Eight. In the early 30s he played with Kid Rena and also formed his own band, the New Orleans Rhythm Boys, which stayed in existence until 1939. During the 40s Robichaux worked as a soloist in New York. In the 50s he was accompanist to Lizzie Miles and then joined the George Lewis band, touring internationally and recording. He remained with Lewis until 1964, then returned to New Orleans where he died in 1965. He was a solid ensemble pianist with a lively solo style.
