Multi-instrumentalist and electronic musician Jon Sonnenberg formed a duo with Robert Gutschow, initially known as Pivot Clowj, that performed and recorded in Los Angeles in the 1990s, releasing the album It's Not as If It Were the End of the World in 1998. The two later changed the band name to House of Wires and reoriented their musical approach from goth industrial to Christian alternative, notably on the 2000 album Monogamy. Late in 2000, Sonnenberg began working as a solo artist, adopting the name Travelogue. He moved to Cleveland, OH, in 2002 and continued to write and produce. On June 24, 2008, Old Man Records released his first solo album, Acoustic Selections, on which he played many of his earlier compositions in arrangements for acoustic instruments.
