Artist Biography by

Iveta Apkalna is a Latvian organist and pianist. She graduated with distinction from the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, and continued studying piano at the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2003, she finished the three-year organ course of Ludger Lohman at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. While she has given recitals at the greatest cathedrals and churches in Europe and North America, she most often performs at Riga Cathedral. Her repertoire ranges from the music of J.S. Bach to contemporary works, in both sacred and secular categories. Apkalna records for Oehms Classics.
