After recording a solo instrumental album in 1988, guitarist Greg Howe decided to expand his musical horizons and incorporate his talents within a band framework. Brother Al stepped in as vocalist, with Vern Parsons and Joe Nevolo taking on bass and drum duties, respectively. Released in 1989, their debut album was a highly accomplished work that combined elements of Van Halen and Rising Force; Al Howe’s vocals were reminiscent of vintage Dave Lee Roth, while Greg’s guitar style was not far removed from that of the Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. Their second album built on these solid foundations, but featured more melodic compositions.
