This innovative UK design group was founded in 1968 by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell. Their first credited piece of artwork graced Pink Floyd’s third album, More. Friendship with this respected act led to further collaborations, including Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother, but the duo also provided graphics for many other releases. Their brilliantly surreal photograph of red toy balls in the desert graced the cover of Elegy by the Nice, while a clever photographic negative effect was used on Doctor Dunbar’s Prescription by the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation.
