b. USA, d. 27 January 1995, Summit, New Jersey, USA. The New York-based engineer, producer and songwriter Gerald Gabinelli began his career with Bob Clearmountain at Media Sound Studios and Ton Bongiovi at the Power Station. He subsequently spent much of his career as chief engineer at OD Studios before becoming staff engineer at Media Sound, The Hit Factory and Sound Works. His notable credits include one for producing, engineering and co-writing the lyrics to ‘Superstar’ by Lydia Murdock. He also engineered platinum albums by Joan Jett And The Blackhearts (I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll) and Steely Dan (Gaucho). He has also worked on albums by Cameo, James Brown, Barry Manilow, Harry Belafonte, Gloria Gaynor, Liza Minnelli, Humble Pie, Kiss, and provided live sound for concerts by Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner, and worked on Broadway cast albums for Beatlemania and Annie.
