New Yorker singer/songwriter George Koelle released his debut offering Ready, Steady, Go. . . in 2000 on Burning Hand Records. After performing for years in the Williamsburg district of Brooklyn, New York, his gentle sound was recorded for mass consumption. His simple, acoustic, indie pop impressed listeners with its intense yet lighthearted approach. Performing all instruments himself, Koelle quickly joined ranks with singer/songwriters who effortlessly combined pop, folk, country, and rock. Recorded entirely at Koelle's Brooklyn home on four-track recorder and computer, the disc's lo-fi intimacy showcased his talents perfectly.
