Pop lyricist Frank Eyton is best-known for the song "Body and Soul" (1930), co-written with lyricists Ed Heyman and Robert Sour, and composer Johnny Green. Eyton is also credited with the lyrics to the 1932 song "If Stars Were Tears," published by Chappell music. During the 1940s, Eyton collaborated with composer Noel Gay on many stage musicals such as Lights Up, The Love Racket, and Sweetheart Mine.
