Now mostly remembered for having their 1981 single "Ambitions" featured in the Lars Ulrich-curated New Wave of British Heavy Metal '79 Revisited compilation, Dragster were an obscure outfit from West Yorkshire, England, featuring vocalist Derick Pickles (no joke!), guitarist Andy Trafford, bassist Mike Stansfield, and drummer Steve Grant. With a rough 'n' tumble sound similar to countrymen Fist and Hollow Ground, to name but a few, the band pretty much vanished from sight shortly after that single's original release by Heavy Metal Records, but still managed to record enough material over the ensuing years to warrant a 2000 CD release by British Steel Records entitled The Very Best of Dragster.
