If there were no life after feedback, then there would be no rock & roll bands, seeing how common it is for musicians using amplification to let loose ear-bending howls of feedback, many of them unintended. But there is one band actually called After Feedback, a Spanish ensemble that was originally formed in 1995. Players came and went in the ensuing years, some of them perhaps desiring to return to their lives before After Feedback. By 2002 the members of the band included vocalist David Martinez, not to be confused with a variety of players who have the same name, active not only in rock but particularly in different styles of Latin music.
Spanish rock bands are among the elite on the European scene in terms of their ability to crack the international marketplace, a trend that goes back to the late '60s and Los Bravos. After Feedback seems to keep up with the latest trends, featuring a blend of heavy metal and thrash styles in which samples, LP scratching, and computer programming also play an important part. All told, Martinez seems to have quite a bit to sing over. The band issues its own material, including a self-titled second CD in 2003.
