He's also a versatile performer, able to play saxophones, clarinet, piano and harp. Bee joined The Bistrouille A.D.O. in 1925, and formed The Red Beans a year later with Peter Packay, with whom he collaborated on compositions and arrangements. They toured Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands before disbanding in 1929. Bee did arrangements and recording sessions in Berlin and Italy before returning to Belgium in 1930, where he joined Robert De Kers' orchestra. He met Benny Goodman and Stuff Smith during a visit to America, and played with Benny Carter and Willie Smith at Chez Florence in Paris. Bee played with Chas Dolne after World War II, and led his own bands and groups at various intervals in the '50s and '60s. Luis Russell, Ted Heath and Reg Owen were among musicians recording his works.
