A well-known and well-liked Slovakian dance and pop vocalist, Dara Rolins (real name: Darina Rolincová, aka Darinka Rolincová) was born in Bratislava on December 7, 1972. A 1982 winner of the Golden Nightingale poll, Dara released her first maxi-CD single, "Our Lovin'," in 1996, which was quickly followed by the full-length Dream of Love, and Rolins then began to build up a fan base in both Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Her next full-length offering, What's My Name, arrived in 2002. In 2006, Rolins released D1, which would eventually see a sister release in 2008 entitled D2. This second album in the series would be a remix collection. That year also saw the birth of her daughter, which didn't prevent the singer from promoting her new record, and the disc peaked in the Czech Republic's album charts at number three.
