Traditional group formed in 1975 by former Volta Jazz member Tidiani Coulibali, who wanted to pursue a rootsier musical direction. He had a mostly electric lineup centered around balafon. The group won first prize in the 1976 Burkina National Festival of Modern Music. By the early '80s, they had toured Mali and were one of the most popular groups in their homeland, but financial problems forced them to disband in 1985. Coulibali attempted to continue as a solo artist.
