Formed in Hull, Yorkshire, England, in the early 60s, singing guitarists Alan Beach, David Kelsey and David Waite sported uniform waistcoats and embroidered shirts while performing commercial folk - ‘I Know Where I’m Going’ reached the lower reaches of the UK Top 50 in spring 1962. They were also noted as the first UK act to cover a Paul Simon opus when ‘Carlos Dominguez’ was issued in Britain a month prior to the version by the composer (as ‘Jerry Landis’) in May 1964. They had the advantage, too, of a virtual residency on UK television’s Five O’Clock Club, before being lost to the archives of oblivion when this ITV children’s series ended.
